Welcome
- Welcome, Stamatia Aristocratos!
I want to welcome Stamatia Aristocratos as the newest member of the Hellenike Paideia! This group is all about the ancient Greek language and we hope that you will have many learning and fun experiences and will share your knowledge with us!
- Welcome, Candida Socrates!
I hope you will enjoy all the things you can learn and do here, from the discussion of Ancient Greek Literature to the Hellenike Paideia Course of Ancient Greek!
- Thank you, Tanaquil. I'm afraid I
panicked when I found my dead computer...
- Rest assure...
The font link is in your message box, Dravidia, so when you have found that again, you will find those homework thingies and the font link I sent to you.
- Help!!! When I returned from my trip
to Montana, I found my computer toasted. I have a new computer, but so far my tekkie friends have not yet recovered all my data, and all my Greek lessons, and homework, material is now gone. I need the Greek Basis font again, and I would greatly appreciate it if anyone can give me the URL where I can find it. On a brighter note, I am at last free of Windows ME! However, now I have to learn Windows XP, and being the computer clutz that I am, it may take awhile...
- Welcome, Kalos Alexandros!
I hope you will find your place in our school, in the shade, not too close to the teacher, to begin with, LOL!
Hopefully, you will find whatever you need to learn and to know about the ancient Greek language, too!
- *smile*
Thankyou so much! I'll do my best as time permits!
- Welcome, Nike Athenias Plato!
I hope you will enjoy your stay in the Hellenike Paideia and that you will learn and share some information as well!

- Thanks for the welcome!
It's the course in Greek that drew me into this august company: the chance to fulfill a life-long dream of actually learning Greek! Too good to pass up...
- Welcome, Aya and Dravidia!
to the Hellenike Paideia and to possible course time in Ancient Greek! I hope you will have a good time and fun into the bargain!
KalwV hlqate eiV thn Ellhnikhn Paideian!

- Thank You
Thank you for the welcome.I enjoy being a member of HELLENIKE PAIDEIA. I have studied Ancient Greek, and I have read Ancient Greek for some years. However, I have much to learn. I am looking forward to learning and discussing Ancient Greek.
Friendly regards,
Philologos Callikrates
- Welcome, Philologos!
I would like to welcome Philologos Callicrates to our school ranks! I hope you will have a good and learnable time with us.
- Welcome, Michelle!
After having applied for membership, our newest student, Michelle Chi, has been accepted and welcomed in the old fashioned ancient Greek way (I hope! *s*), having been placed in the center of the School at the fire place, having been fed and having been allowed to take some rest, before being asked:
"Who are you, where are you from and who are your parents? What is your purpose here and who directed you hither...?"
LOL, it's a much quoted phrase in Homer's works, forming the basics of Greek hospitality. Enjoy your stay in HP!
- How's my Greek?
Not as good as it was in college, but getting better.
- Welcome, Aulus!
I welcome Aulus Sergius, one of the distinguished Latinists of AW and a praeceptor of the Schola Linguae Latinae!
I hope you will have a good learning time here and that you will share your knowledge with us.
How is your Greek, by the way? *s*
- Hello!
Ahem, or is it cairete filoi(?)
Thank you Tanaquil and Marty for the welcome. I'm so glad to be here! Last time I tried to study Greek on my own, I read and read (and nodded dumbly), but was unable to grasp a word. Hope that this time it will be different! Looking forward to learning from and with all of you.
- THANK YOU
Many thanks to TANAQUIL and MARTY for their welcome. Reading some messages in HELLENIKE PAIDEIA I was very pleased to learn that LEIDEN was another LOUGDOUNON (or LUGDUNUM), as my own city, LYON...
Friendly.
Gallicus.

I would like to welcome the lovely Porciae Porcius, so Roman and belonging to a very "Roman" Roman family, very traditionalistic et cetera (kai ta loipa), but still wanting to learn Greek! If only M. Porcius Cato knew about that! LOLWelcome, Porciae, in our midst! I hope you will have a good learning time here!
Tanaquil
- Welcome, Philotas!
I want to welcome a new member and newly appointed Paidagogos in our midst: Philotas Alexandros. I hope you will have some great things to put inot this group, so that it will grow and prosper!
Philotas is a classicist and can inform all of us of interesting aspects of the development of the Greek language from ancient times on and help newbies with their efforts in learning Greek!
Tanaquil
- Thank you, Tanaquil!
And I would say the windows are already pretty clean...I tried to walk through one! LOL...ouch.

Hellas' very own Scribe, Louisa Agis, has arrived! Now, we must clean our windows! LOL

Tanaquil
- Welcome, Reylari!
I want to welcome you, Reylari, as one of the new members of the School for Ancient Greek Language and Literature, Hellènikè Paideia.
I know that you are very fond of Greek culture and that you are successfully leading the group "The Great Stoa" in Hellas. Such a learned person I am honored to welcome here!
Please grab a seat at the Taverna and have a cool drink while you tell us what brought you over here, *s*!
Tanaquil
- Welcome, Menerva and Minerva Soaemias!
I hope you will be comfortable in the brand new Greek School we just founded! Menerva, I know you will be a good sophistès and contributor to our Scholè....Minerva Soaemias, Syrians excel in the Greek language, but nevertheless, I am very gald to have you here!
Tanaquil

- Welcome, Terpsichore Cleanthes and Jot Ariston!
I want to welcome both of you! Terpsichore is not only good at dancing and music, but also at making group pages look beautiful! Thanks a lot, Terpsichore, for the nice background and the beautiful graphics you made for us!
Jot Ariston, the cybergod, has winged down to earth and decided to join the Hellènikè Paideia! *bows*
We will try to make this school work as the Schola Linguae Latinae does. There are some Greek font things we will have to solve, but we are confident that things will work the way we want them to.
Good to have you both here!
XAIPETE!
- LOL...
You have a good point there!
- Etruscilla,
You have actually joined in your Etruscan persona, which is quite familiar to the Greek culture and language! LOL
- I want to say a special thank you...
...to Tanaquil, Marty, and all those involved in making this group happen here, in Hellas. Though I have joined in my Roman persona (due to a glitch with my group listing for my Hellas one), this Greek is very appreciative! I've got my notebook and pencils ready! *S*
- Welcome Marty and Drusus!
Make yourselves comfortable in the Taverna, before the school year really starts! Such an interest from the Roman division, like in the old days!*s*
If you have any ideas and suggestions, please let the didaskalos know before the school starts. By the way, if you know AW people who would like to be a member, please let them know that the Greek School is up!
- Welcome, Etruscilla!
A warm welcome to Etruscilla Valerius, the first pais in our Greek school! Although our doors are not open yet and the smell of stucco and fresh paint is still hanging in the air, I hope you will be a good and fruitfull student! *s*
