| From Civil Wars (193-196 AD), the Emperor Septimus Severus restored order to the Empire, but left it to his brutal son, Caracalla (murdered 217). The diadem then went to his grand-nephew, Elagabalus (murdered 222). The last stable dynasty for a half-century. |
