When I first read the book I found Galadriel to be one hell of an interesting character and a bit enigmatic as well. That's what makes her so appealing to me. You can tell she's powerful and wise but never get to know her deeply. Another female character I liked very much was Eowyn, she is so different from most others female characters in the book *and quite a revolutionary for her time* ^_^. My other favorite character is Faramir. Why? Because he is a strong and brave man, yet gentle and sweet *yes, sweet* at the same time. Last but not least come Merry and Pippin. Besides loving them for making me laugh it was especially nice to see how the change during the course of the story. The list goes on and on and I'd possibly end up mentioning 90% of all characters for various reasons so I'd better shut up now. (special Kudos to Aragorn, Gandalf, Denethor and Bilbo)
