Here's a quick update on the latest activity on Germania's groups.
Lords of the Plains now has a new thread devoted to the Slavs, thanks to Apilady ApilSin. It's found on a new board for the group - one devoted to other cultures influenced by the nomad tribes.
Ivarr Scylding has been busy at The Wanderings of the Tribes, adding some excellent posts on the earliest history of the Goths. And the group's Campfire thread has seen almost as much eating and drinking of mead and ale as the Red Boar. Are we Germanics obsessed with food and booze?
One of the Germanic groups which has really caught the attention of AW citizens everywhere is the immensely successful The Missing Link, which has the bold and noble aim of cataloging every historical link known to the World Wide Web. The estimable Marduk "Tango" Hammurabi and Fabricius "Cash" Flavius are the ones to thank for this great resource and it's terrific that it's being hosted here at Germania.
And the very latest and greatly anticipated group at Germania is The Rood and the Raven. This is out first role-playing group, set in the time of the greatest Viking invasions of Anglo-Saxon England. All are invited to head over, take up a character and enjoy raiding (or defending!) the kingdoms of the English.
Over at Angelcynn Lucius Aelius is continuing his series of articles on Beowulf. Anyone who is interested in this jewel of ancient Germanic literature is very welcome to join in the discussion there.
That's all for now, but I know several people have some articles and other planned posts in the works, so check out the Groups for updates. I'll be posting summary bulletins like this one from time to time to keep everyone updated on new developments.
Till next time,
Thiu
