Welcome to the new Scribal Team!
- 'ello newbies and oldie ;)
have fun, don't work too too hard, and keep a bowl of kash handy at all times!
- Some advice from the dried up, old prunes
OK, kiddies. Persia and I have discussed it over and here is our advice to a long, happy Scribehood in Mesopotamia *serious voice*:
1. Be sure to remain open and friendly at all times. It'll be hard sometimes, but try to remain open to others' suggestions (you don't have to aggree *hehehehe* with them, just open to the suggestion).
2. Scribehood is not a Dictatorship, but a Stewardship. Mesopotamia is open to all members and it is your job to help them feel welcome and comfortable. You do not own it, but cultivate it and make it grow. Just remember, Mesopotamia belongs to everyone and we'll all appreciate your efforts to make it a better place to visit/live.
3. Remember you are the first point of contact in Mesopotamia. Be sure to welcome new members as soon as you see they've joined our fair world. Also, it wouldn't go amiss to gram them if you see them online and just say hi, welcome and ask if there's anything you can do for them. You should also try to keep your grams on most of the time you're logged in. During festivals and other events, you'll be busy and may not want to be disturbed. That's fine, just be sure to turn them back on when you're done doing what needs to be done.
4. Try to be as upfront and honest as you can when working on things here. Never do things behind the scenes that affect the masses and not explain your decisions. Doing so, leads to more trouble for you in the long run.
5. Buy drinks for Persia at the Kashbowl daily. Twice-a-day during festivals. She's a poor, retiree and doesn't have as much blunt as before.
6. ApilIshtar needs a bit of stroking now and then. Scratch her behind the ears and praise her shiny coat...oh wait, wrong thread. Ahem. Yeah, what was said above for Persia goes for Apil.
- Cursed Pointy Things
*Snoooooorrre* Dedication...hard work.... commitment...*Snoooooorrre* OUCH!!! Hey, be careful with that pointy thing.
- With that kinda equipment
I say she oughta sink! But then she is so strong, she will likely swim. I ain't worried, the Akitu Queen's gonna rock!
- Is that a sword in your pocket...
Or are you just happy to see me? LOL
Yes, my dear Xena, Warrior Princess, it is our lot in life to keep the men on the straight and narrow. And with tools like those, I'm sure you won't have any problems at all.
Persia, do we have any insights and wisdom to pass onto our young grasshoppers? Or shall it be just the "sink or swim" approach?
- I'm a tool? How about these tools?
Thanks for the welcome, ladies. I am looking forward to this new and exciting aspect of Ancient Worlds -- scribing. I will also enjoy learning more about Mesopotamia. I will certainly do my best to keep the "boys" on their toes. Isn't that a female's main purpose in life?
- LOL Just noticed the tool comment, Deedee
hehehe Get used to it folks, the Scribes are the tools of the Demis.
*looks at Xena* You're such a tool. *runs away screaming as Xena pulls out her swords* I was just kidding! I promise!
- Good point!!
Though I will be forever grateful for the new friends I made over the year, the opportunity to be naughty makes leaving scribehood all better. And also the peace of mind that the incoming scribes will do well - and the FACT the our SE's are awesome! So we can relax and enjoy our retirement!!
HUGS deedee!!
- *sniffs*
I am going to miss working with you Deedee. But, I think we are leaving this world in very capable hands. We'll have to keep them on their toes and now we can be really naughty. Bwahahahaha!
- Welcome and good luck!
I want to add my own greetings to the three incoming Mesopotamian scribes. You will be a great tool for the residents of Mesopotamia!
Good luck to you all and more than that, enjoy your year as Scribes!
- Meet the new Scribes
It is with great happiness I am able to welcome three new Scribes to Mesopotamia. To replace the old, worn and tired trio, we have Apiladey ApilSin (who’s been here and done this), Xena ApilSin and Ashurbanipal Assurbanipal!
Apiladey was one of the original Scribes in Mesopotamia (back when it was called Babylon) and will bring to the new team his great wit and experience. He also has a great knowledge of Mesopotamian history, especially in trade and medicine. He’s been a wonderful friend of mine since before Ancient Worlds, in Ancient Sites. We are all lucky to have him.
Xena ApilSin is a fun-loving gal. She has great energy and new ideas. I am looking forward to seeing what she will bring to Mesopotamia and I doubt I’ll be disappointed. She served this year, as our Akitu Queen. We’ve also become friends this year and I don’t feel any trepidations about handing the reins over to her. Just be sure the men don’t gang up on you, dear!
Ashurbanipal Assurbanipal has also become a near and dear friend of mine. He is interested, mostly, in the Biblical history of Mesopotamia. It’s an interest we both share and we’ve had many interesting discussion about it. He is also a member of the welcoming committee and is a friendly face which greets our new neighbors. I see great things in his future.
So, without further ado, welcome to the new team of Scribes in Meso! If you are ever in need, I’ll still be around lurking and will be happy to help. :D
